Ticketmaster and Comcast Partner for Industry-First Interactive Integration
Ticketmaster and Comcast have teamed up to offer fans an exciting new way to find events and purchase tickets. The agreement allows Comcast to utilize Ticketmaster’s open ticketing platform to enable Xfinity X1 customers to search tour dates and request concert tickets through their televisions.
The first event fans can access is three-time Grammy winner Kelly Clarkson’s 2019 “Meaning of Life” Tour. In a statement, Clarkson said she is thrilled to offer her fans a new, easy way to find tickets and join her on tour.
Here’s how fans can find event tickets:
- Fans can speak “Kelly Clarkson Tour” into their X1 Voice Remote.
- From there, fans will land at a dedicated Kelly Clarkson destination where they can access a list of performances and dates close to them.
- Once ready, fans can initiate the ticket-buying process by opting to get a text message with a unique code.
- Fans punch in the code and can then complete their purchase online.
“Our team is always thinking of new ways to reach more fans by extending Ticketmaster’s open platform,” said Ticketmaster senior vice president & general manager, distributed commerce Dan Armstrong in a statement.
Ticketmaster will continue to offer this ticketing capability for more highly-anticipated concerts and events on X1.
This groundbreaking integration follows Ticketmaster’s recent partnership with Samsung’s intelligent assistant, Bixby.
