The NFL Will Be Awarding Digital Collectible NFTs to Fans During 2021 Season

With the help of Ticketmaster, football fans now have the opportunity to receive complimentary digital collectibles in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) for select games from Thanksgiving through the end of the 2021 NFL season.

“Creating more one-to-one experiences through innovation and technology is a high priority across the League and clubs,” said Bobby Gallo, SVP of Club Business Development at the NFL. “Leveraging the emerging world of NFTs is a new and exciting way for us to create additional value and to further engage with NFL fans who attend select games by providing a commemorative digital collectible NFT. There is no better time than the upcoming holiday season to kick off this fun and engaging fan experience, starting with the Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day matchup.”

“These special digital collectible NFTs give fans a keepsake to remember the game they attended and share the experience with their friends online,” said Brendan Lynch, Ticketmaster – EVP Enterprise & Revenue. “As we continue to invest and innovate in this space, we’re proud to partner with the NFL to introduce the exciting world of digital collectibles to football fans and help them unlock a whole new way to extend their game day experience.”

The team at Ticketmaster is always investing in new ways to engage fans and digital collectible NFTs present an opportunity to add value and deepen the fan relationship.

As a ticketing marketplace, Ticketmaster is uniquely positioned to help our clients integrate NFTs into the fan’s journey – for example by adding on an NFT as they purchase tickets, or awarding an NFT as attendees go to shows – there’s lots of different ways NFTs can enhance the fan experience. And our scale can help offer a turnkey way to connect with every fan coming to the game or show.
