In 1996, November was officially declared National Veterans and Military Families Month in the United States. Since then, November has been a time to acknowledge the tremendous sacrifices our veterans and military families make.
As military members return from deployment and re-enter their family environments, many veterans experience trouble readjusting to civilian life. The Veteran Tickets Foundation, also known as Vet Tix, is striving to reduce this stress, strengthen family bonds and build lifelong memories through live events.
About Vet Tix
Vet Tix, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by veterans, is dedicated to giving back to those who gave so much. The organization’s mission is to provide free tickets to sporting events, concerts, performing arts and family activities to active members and veterans of all branches of the U.S. military as well as first responders. Military service members experience unique burdens of stress and sacrifice, both physically and mentally. By providing them with the opportunity to attend live events, Vet Tix is aiming to improve mental welfare and enrich the lives of our veterans.
Impact
For military service members and veterans, the impact created by attending live events cannot be overstated. While serving, they sacrifice so many aspects of normal civilian life, including quality time with their family, and oftentimes don’t have the budget for leisure activities such as attending live events. Receiving tickets in honor of their service allows veterans to feel proud of their military time, helping build a positive identity and enriching their emotional and mental health. Vet Tix offers a diverse range of free events, making it easy and appealing for vets to use their services, regardless of age or physical ability.

Since 2017, Vet Tix has distributed more than 3.6 million tickets for Ticketmaster clients through Ticketmaster’s connected APIs, contributing to the nearly 15 million free tickets that Vet Tix has distributed since being founded in 2008. In 2022 alone, Vet Tix has distributed over 840,000 music tickets, 140,000 sports tickets, 65,000 family event tickets and 30,000 arts tickets for Ticketmaster clients.
Ticket Donations
Through generous, tax-deductible donations, Vet Tix provides military members and their families with tickets to live events. Over 600 Ticketmaster venues donated to Vet Tix in 2022 as leagues, teams and shows contribute to a diverse selection of events from which military members can choose. Donating gives organizations the opportunity to thank the local military and veteran community, but also creates an opportunity for families to bond and create lifelong memories.

Vet Tix Eligibility
Vet Tix is committed to helping put veterans and service members in empty seats at games and events across the nation. Through Ticketmaster, Live Nation Entertainment created a custom ticketing software that allows Vet Tix users to view ticket availability in real-time. The system verifies the military service of applicants and automatically notifies them when events they’re interested in become available. Currently serving military, honorably discharged veterans from all branches of service and families of those Killed In Action are eligible to create a free account.
As more veterans attend live events, the overall mission remains the same — Vet Tix continues to give to those that gave and helps them make new memories, many of which are often missed while serving.
