- Understand Demand: Artist-managed waitlists provide valuable insight into fan demand before additional inventory is released.
- Distribute to Fans Your Choose: Pair your own audiences, such as fan club members and merch buyers, with Seated’s fan verification.
- Prioritize Fans over Sellers: Distributing late-release inventory through an artist-managed waitlist helps tickets reach fans before bad actors or brokers.
In partnership with Seated, artists and promoters have a new way to distribute late-release ticket inventory directly to fans.
How It Works:
- Fans join the waitlist: Fans register on the artist’s website, setting how many tickets they want and a price they’re willing to pay. Fans can also enable AutoBuy by preauthorizing their credit card.
- Set up: Artists opt in on an event-by-event basis and the promoter works with the venue box office to allocate inventory to the waitlist.
- Artist defines who gets access: Artists can supplement Seated’s fan verification with their own audience signals to prioritize the fans they want in the room.
- Offer and deliver: When inventory matches a fan’s preferences, they receive an SMS offer and purchase through Seated. Fans claim their tickets through their Ticketmaster account.

Best Practices
Open your waitlist early
Enable waitlist at announce to capture stronger demand insights around your show.
Promote through your own channels
Drive sign-ups through the artist’s website, email, social and SMS to drive awareness.
Allow time to set up
Allow around 3 business days for offers to be built. For late releases, send offers to the waitlist at least 7 days before the show to optimize conversion.
FAQs
Is this applied to every tour automatically?
No. It’s opt-in and can be applied on an event-by-event basis, it doesn’t have to cover a whole tour. Artists activate their waitlist through Seated whenever they choose.
Where does the purchase happen?
Fan notifications and purchase all take place through Seated. Ticketmaster handles fulfillment, with fans claiming their tickets through a Ticketmaster account.
What is AutoBuy?
AutoBuy enables a purchase to be completed automatically on a fan’s behalf. Fans can save payment details when joining a waitlist and select this feature via Seated.
How close to the event can tickets be sold through the waitlist?
Tickets can be sold right up to the event, as long as the offer is enabled and inventory has been allocated to the waitlist.
Where is this available?
The Ticketmaster integration with Seated is currently available for Ticketmaster events in the US and Canada, with more markets to come.
