Ticketmaster, the global leader in live event ticketing, today announced a part acquisition of Thai Ticket Major (TTM), headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. The acquisition is scheduled to complete in Q3 (subject to customary closing conditions being satisfied). This continued expansion in Asia furthers Ticketmaster’s goal of bringing its ticketing platform to more markets, allowing the company to better service the growing global live events industry.
Thailand has a thriving live entertainment market across all major genres – music, sports, musical theatre and family events. Artists are traveling more of the world to play to their expanding global fan bases, and currently 90 percent of Western tours in Asia route through Bangkok. Thailand also has a strong regional market especially for K-Pop and Japanese talent.
