Face Value Exchange caps resale on Ticketmaster at the original price paid, fighting for-profit resale and keeping concerts affordable for fans who want to go to the show.
Secure
All listings are verified, giving fans a trusted place to buy or sell. This keeps transactions safe, reduces fraud risk from third-party sellers, and ensures all fans have valid tickets.
Flexible
If a fan can’t attend, they can easily resell their ticket at the original price paid (including taxes and fees). This provides affordable access for other fans who wish to attend.
How It Works
Face Value Exchange is enabled one week before sales start.
- As fans shop for tickets, they’re shown information on what Face Value Exchange means for them, including transfer limitations* and mobile requirements.
- If plans unexpectedly change, fans have the flexibility to sell tickets on Ticketmaster for the original price set by the artist.
- All fans are delivered a mobile, transfer-restricted ticket, deterring inflated resale on other sites and ensuring everyone gets in on show night.
* Turning off ticket transfer is illegal in NY, IL, CO, VA, UT and CT. Your artist is welcome to still encourage fans to use Face Value Exchange in these states; however, since transfer will be on, fans will be able to sell on any other site at the price of their choice. We will honor face value prices on our marketplace, even in states where transfer restrictions are not allowed.

We will continue to advocate for lawmakers to create and enforce laws that curb the deceptive resale practices on other marketplaces including an industry-wide 20% resale cap on tickets.
No-Fee Face Value Exchange
We support artists who choose to use Face Value Exchanges to cap resale on our site while still giving fans the flexibility if they need to sell tickets at the price they originally paid.
Verified Resale
We authenticate resale listings on our site to ensure fans have a safe, secure marketplace that offers flexibility AND respects artists’ wishes.
