Fair, Secure, and Flexible Ticketing
- Reduce for-profit resale and keep concerts affordable for fans with resale capped at the original price paid (including taxes and fees).
- All listings are verified, reducing fraud risk and ensuring each fan has valid tickets.
- Fans have a simple way to resell tickets when schedules shift, all while respecting resale caps.
Face Value Exchange empowers artists to protect the fan experience with a secure option to resell tickets at the original price paid.
How It Works:
- Enable Face Value Exchange before tickets go on sale
- Fans see clear resale rules during purchase
- If plans change, fans can resell at the original price
- Resold tickets are canceled and reissued to the new buyer

Important Reminders
- Tickets will be non-transferable* where legally permitted.
- Fans must scan into the event with all guests in their party.
- Fans must have a valid bank account in the same country as the event to resell.
* Turning off ticket transfer is illegal in NY, IL, CO, VA, UT and CT. Your artist is welcome to still encourage fans to use Face Value Exchange in these states; however, since transfer will be on, fans will be able to sell on any other site at the price of their choice. We will honor face value prices on our marketplace, even in states where transfer restrictions are not allowed.
Face Value Exchange Works Best for tours that:
Are expected to sell out quickly
If an event underperforms and primary prices are adjusted, it can create inconsistencies in the fan experience across primary and resale.
Maintain original pricing
Face Value Exchange is designed to enable artists to protect ticket prices from inflated resale. A stable pricing approach ensures the model works as intended.
Can support restricted ticket transfer
Some states* require tickets be transferable, which can introduce complexity in both execution and fan communication.
* *Opting into Face Value Exchange will restrict fans’ ability to transfer their tickets, except in states where transfer is required by law (Connecticut, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Utah, and Virginia).
Commit to proactive fan communication
Artists should align closely with Ticketmaster and leverage available resources to communicate to fans. Social posts and video messaging can help set clear expectations.
