For Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC), delivering an exceptional matchday experience starts well before kickoff. Since 2018, the club has operated with 100% mobile ticketing, creating a digital foundation that helps make it easier for fans to access their tickets while giving LAFC greater visibility into how fans arrive and enter the stadium.

Working with Ticketmaster, LAFC continues to build on that foundation, using digital ticketing and operational insights to better understand fan behavior, support matchday operations, and create a more seamless entry experience.

Building Matchday Around Mobile

Mobile ticketing has been part of the LAFC experience from the beginning. Today, digital entry is deeply embedded in how fans access the stadium.

From January 2025 through July 2026, LAFC recorded 793,278 ticket scans at home matches. During that period, 77.3% of scans came through iOS direct access, with Android direct access accounting for another 9.0%.

For LAFC, mobile ticketing is more than a way to get fans through the gates. It provides the foundation for understanding how fans interact with their tickets and how the club can continue improving the matchday journey.

Turning Insights Into Better Operations

One of the benefits of a digital-first approach is greater visibility into when fans arrive.

LAFC’s insights show that fans enter the stadium an average of 30 minutes before kickoff, with 32.3% of entries occurring during the final 30 minutes.

Understanding those arrival patterns can help venue teams anticipate periods of peak demand and inform decisions around ingress and matchday operations. Rather than relying solely on what happens at the gates, teams can use insights from digital ticketing to better understand fan behavior and prepare for it.

Helping Create a More Secure Entry Experience

LAFC has also seen a significant decline in invalid ticket scans.

Average invalid scans fell from 42.5 per match in 2023 to 17.1 in 2024 and 12.3 in 2025, representing a 71% reduction from 2023 to 2025.

That improvement provides a strong example of what a modern digital ticketing environment can look like. With Ticketmaster supporting LAFC’s digital ticketing experience, the club has continued to evolve how fans access the stadium while reducing a common source of friction at entry.

Setting the Standard for the Modern Matchday

For LAFC, innovation is not about introducing technology for technology’s sake. It is about finding better ways to serve fans and operate the venue.

With 100% mobile ticketing, growing use of digital entry channels, deeper insight into arrival patterns, and fewer invalid scans, LAFC is demonstrating how technology can support both sides of the matchday experience: making entry easier for fans while giving venue teams the insights they need to operate effectively.

As expectations for live sports continue to evolve, LAFC’s approach offers a model for clubs looking to build a more connected, informed, and seamless matchday experience, with Ticketmaster technology and insights helping support that vision.
