Ticketmaster partnering with LAFC and Learn Fresh

At Ticketmaster, our commitment to live events extends beyond the venue to creating meaningful community impact. This season, we partnered with Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) and the nonprofit Learn Fresh to launch MLS STEM Goals in Los Angeles. This soccer-inspired learning initiative is helping transform how students across the country  engage with STEM education.

LAFC is one of the first MLS clubs to activate the program, helping bring STEM learning to life through the lens of soccer. Offered free to educators for the 2025–2026 school year, MLS STEM Goals uses game-based learning to boost math confidence, spark curiosity, and build problem-solving skills in 4th–8th grade classrooms and community programs.

A Partnership in Action

The program began with hands-on educator training at BMO Stadium, where over 20 teachers and staff learned how to implement the curriculum. Following the training, students engaged with soccer-themed board games that challenged them to think critically, collaborate, and apply STEM skills in a competitive and fun environment.

To deepen the experience, Ticketmaster welcomed 60 students and educators to our Ticketmaster Los Angeles office for a tour and a STEM in Soccer Panel. The panel featured Christopher Tweed-Kent, VP of Product at Ticketmaster, Georgia Kasperowicz, Performance Data Analyst at LAFC and Sergi Palencia, LAFC Defender. Moderated by Nick Monzi, CEO of Learn Fresh, the discussion provided insight into how STEM is integral to their careers.

I asked myself how I could combine my interests in math and engineering with the live events I loved,” said Tweed-Kent. “Today, I get to do that, helping venues and teams like LAFC bring events to life.”

Celebrating Student Achievement

The program culminated in the first-ever LA Regional MLS STEM Goals Tournament at BMO Stadium. More than 75 students competed, applying their STEM skills in a high-energy environment. To celebrate their achievements, the students received tickets to the LAFC vs. Toronto FC match on October 8 courtesy of Ticketmaster, experiencing the excitement of a live professional soccer game firsthand.

We’re thrilled to bring MLS STEM Goals to Los Angeles in partnership with LAFC and Ticketmaster,” said Monzi. “As the popularity of soccer grows, we’re connecting students’ passion for the game with meaningful STEM learning.”
