When a high-demand event sells out, the ticketing journey isn’t always over.

Production releases are often made available closer to the show. Venue configurations and production changes often open up new seats which results in additional inventory becoming available. Sometimes, new tickets go on sale just days, or even hours, before doors open.

The challenge is making sure those newly available tickets reach the fans who artists want in the room.

Through Ticketmaster’s partnership with Seated, artists and promoters have a new way to distribute late-release ticket inventory directly to fans who have already expressed interest in attending.

A Better Way to Manage Late-Release Ticket Inventory

Seated is an artist-first ticketing platform that helps artists build direct relationships with fans through their official websites.

Together, Ticketmaster and Seated offer an integrated solution that allows artists and promoters to distribute newly available ticket inventory, such as production holds, through an artist-managed waitlist, rather than releasing tickets directly into a general onsale.

How the Ticketmaster and Seated Experience Works

The integrated experience is simple for both artists and fans:

  1. Fans join an artist’s official waitlist through the artist’s website. Fans set how many tickets they want and how much they’re willing to pay. Fan can also enable AutoBuy by pre-authorizing their payment card
  2. Artists can pair their own audiences with Seated’s fan verification tools to determine which fan segments should receive priority access.
  3. When additional tickets become available, selected fans receive an exclusive offer via SMS to purchase tickets.
  4. Fans complete their purchase through Seated and claim their tickets in their Ticketmaster account as Ticketmaster SafeTix®.

Note: Pricing is inclusive of all Ticketmaster fees, Seated fees, and taxes.

Because the experience is integrated with Ticketmaster, fulfillment remains seamless and secure while giving artists additional flexibility in managing late-release ticket inventory.

Instead of relying solely on first-come, first-served access, artists can reward the fans who are already most connected to them.

Why Late-Release Ticket Distribution Matters

Managing late-release inventory often requires fast decisions.

Production releases become available close to show day, leaving little time to distribute tickets while helping ensure they reach fans before secondary sellers or brokers.

This partnership provides a fan-first approach to ticket distribution that gives artists greater control over how tickets reach the market.

Benefits of the Ticketmaster and Seated Integration

Understand Fan Demand

Artist-managed waitlists provide valuable insight into fan demand before additional inventory is released, helping to understand where demand is.

Distribute To Fans You Choose

Artists can pair their own fan lists with Seated’s fan verification tools to prioritize access to fans they choose.

Prioritize Fans Over Sellers

Distributing late-release inventory through an artist-managed waitlist creates another pathway for tickets to reach fans before bad actors and brokers have an opportunity to purchase them. Fans buy tickets at prices established by the artist and promoter, helping maintain greater control over inventory distribution, and give fans a trusted way to purchase tickets.

More Artist Control Across the Event Lifecycle

Today’s artists want more ways to connect directly with their fans, while fans increasingly expect personalized experiences.

The Ticketmaster and Seated partnership helps artists and promoters distribute newly available tickets more strategically and reward engaged fans while maximizing purchase opportunities all the way up to the start of the event.
