We’re excited to announce Ticketmaster Livestream, a ticketing solution for virtual events used by artists like Dua Lipa and Megan Thee Stallion. To date, the platform has sold tickets to fans in more than 180 countries.
This is the latest product innovation by the Ticketmaster Music team, which has a newly expanded global mandate. David Marcus, now EVP of Global Music will head up the global team working with SVP of Artist Services Sam Isles, and Ticketmaster’s music experts to continue delivering the best ticketing solutions for artists at every stage of their career.
Ticketmaster Livestream launched globally in 2020, as a way for artists to continue connecting with their fans with no geographical, time zone or capacity limitations. The platform operates in ten languages, 135 currencies, and can integrate with any streaming platform an artist chooses.
Our technology quickly pivoted to selling streaming tickets at scale, and the acceleration in artists going virtual to engage has been remarkable, so too is the readiness of fans to pay to access their favorite artists in this way. The beauty of virtual shows is that we’re seeing global viewing – performances in London or LA are selling tickets to fans in New Zealand, Spain or Singapore, it’s revolutionizing the way artists can connect. Nothing will replace the live experience, but this represents a new form of entertainment with its own rewards, and it’s definitely something that will remain for years to come.”
David Marcus
EVP of Global Music
Since launching, Ticketmaster Livestream has experienced an explosion in virtual ticket sales signifying a clear and continued demand for live from fans. Most recently, the platform sold over 125K tickets to a virtual performance in the UK by Niall Horan, with fans in more than 157 countries tuning in. Other artists around the globe have experienced similar success recently including RBD, Mika, Glass Animals, Biffy Clyro, and Dermot Kennedy.
Ticketmaster Livestream will continue to build on recent successes by providing artists with a global offering that marries the latest in livestream ticketing with global marketing and business support honed by decades in the business.
We look forward to working with our partners around the world to connect with fans in new, meaningful ways that transcend borders — much like the music we all love.
